Feudalism is the basic power and structure of their land and society in the medieval era. The lord ranged from the emperor to lowly knight looking for used land to conquer.Serf is in exchange for service of the knights. Land is the only money that knights get to keep as a vassals in the medieval eras.The more land the lord had the more knights he had so he was protected and could be making more money.The oldest son could inherit the lords' land. The younger sons usually hungered for land so they could have a place to live.The lord could also seize land from other countries by conquering them.
